Enforcer

Another Swedish band featured in this sub-page. Formed primarily in 2004 as one-man project by Olof Wikstrand, joined by his younger brother, Jonas and Adam Zaars in 2006 (Adam left in 2011) and a year later shortly joined by Jakob Ljungberg. Current lineup consist of Wikstrand brothers (Olof - vocals, guitars, Jonas - drums), Joseph Tholl(guitars) and Tobias Lindqvist (bass).

They released their first album "Into the Night" in 2008. From the very beginning to the very end it's energetic, oldschool speeding heavy metal. It really is very speed - only 35 minutes. But as you can read on their current label's page dedicated to them, this is for very specific reason. All their three releases so far are under 40 minutes.

"Into the Night" was followed by "Diamonds" in 2009. Judging by the reviews, this one can easily be described as their best album (state for the end of 2014). It's doesn't have the same raw sound of previous release and it's more melodic, less aggressive but it's still the same speeding band. But the style became more consistent and their skills improved. For myself I can also say - this one I like the most.

Their third album, "Death by Fire" was released in 2013. I heard it said to be one of the most anticipated heavy metal releases of that year. Surely after the great reviews of previous one, it was one of the most anticipated NWOTHM releases for the last few years. It's a bit different than "Diamonds". It's again faster and has more aggressive sound, like their first one and there is less emphasis put on being melodic. Even if it's usually not said to be as good as "Diamonds", this 40-minute piece of great ear-ripping speeding heavy metal should be seen as keeping the good course by this talented young band.

Surprisingly, Olof Wikstrand seems to be quite a shy person when one talks to him after the show. Well, at least shy for a metal band's frontman. I had the chance to meet him after their concert in my city in winter of 2014 and that was my impression. But, hell, on the stage he's the real metal devil. This is my subjective opinion, but I think he's one of the most interesting frontmen among NWOTHM bands.
