Flooded by news

Today I decided that I should finally install some RSS reader so that I can follow metal (and other) news. I did as I decided. And what did I get to know?

Among huge pile of other news, which I did not yet go through, I found a very interesting (for me) info from yesterday - Anthrax has officially returned to the studio! They're recording a new album, planned for release in 2015 by Megaforce. New album, a follow up of 2011's "Worship Music" which I really enjoyed, is not even titled yet, but I already anticipate it. And the tour of course, for I expect to see them again here!

With a warm-hearted dedication to my karaoke loving friends - I'm "Antisocial".

Day of Rage

One day late, but I had some other business yesterday and had no time...

As is clear from the title, the band of the week is Rage. I gotta admit, out of their twenty LPs released since 1986 I mostly like to listen to few chosen ones. But when I get to them, I can listen to this music on repeat.

I wondered, which their song should I put here. I decided for this one for it comes from one of two albums I've been listening to for the past week. Here comes "Dies Irae" (lat. "Day of Rage")

Concert news!

Good news - Knock Out Productions just announced that Testament will visit Poland for two shows in June. They're playing in my city on 3.06.

I don't yet know if I'll be there 'cause one of festivals I'm thinking about, Out and Loud, starts on 4.06 and it's quite far away so I would have a little problem to get there on time. But hell yeah, I don't care, they're playing on both festivals that are at the top of my list for this year's summer so I'll see them either way. Even if I'll be a little sad that I won't see them in that small venue near the place I live...

In case I end up on any other festival in any other term - Fabryka club in Krakow is the place I'll be on 3.06 next year. Who's coming with me?

Metal from outer space

Dug out some time ago.

Name: Scanner
Genre: heavy/power/speed
How did I find them: mentioned in favourites on some other band's Facebook page

Formed in 1982 as Lions Breed, renamed to Scanner in 1986. Over the years band released 5 albums and underwent many personal changes. The only original band member is guitarist, Axel "A.J." Julius.

Band plans to release new album, "The Judgement" on January, 23rd, 2015, by Massacre Records.

Below you can find a song from their first release, "Hypertrace" (1988) - a science fiction sort-of concept album. Still a bit rough but really energetic piece of speed metal. Catched my ear in an instant and didn't want to let it go.

Here it is. Enjoy the hyperspace.

Heavy Metal Strikes Back

Aaaaand the band of the week is Rocka Rollas!

It's good to know that there are young people out there who keep the spirit of metal alive. It seems that there are more and more young bands playing 80s-like heavy and speed metal. I love it.

As Rocka Rollas is one of my favourites in this category, surely more on the subject will be coming in rather near future. For now - first of their songs that I've ever heard, dug out somewhere from depths of lastfm. Makes me wanna wildly bang my head and scream my lungs out.

Mega change

It's not a new information. This was announced more than a week ago but, hell, I still wonder about it.

Within few hours half of the members of my all-time #2 band announced in separate statements that they leave. Shawn Drover and Chris Broderick left Megadeth.

I don't want to analyse if there is something behind "due to artistic and musical differences" or "to pursue my own musical interests" reasons usually stated in situations like that. These are the official statements and if there were conflicts or anything else, I assume it's a private thing. I only wonder what now about one of my favourite bands.

Good news is that according to Dave Ellefson's words the band will continue to work on material for their next release and they are "looking at all the options, of which there are many." [source: blabbermouth.net]. I'm really curious what those options will eventually turn out to be as well as what will both ex-members do now after quitting Megadeth. Especially Chris Broderick who is one of my favourite guitarists. You can be 100% sure I will comment when I hear about it!

So maybe this time...

I can't live without metal. That's a fact.

Although I'm no musician (never had any talent for creating or even playing anything), music is very important for me. Music is all my emotion and feelings that I have but I don't know how to speak about.

Every day my music player speaks not only about what do I like to listen. It also speaks about me - if only someone can get the twisted ways of my heart and mind. .

Please keep in mind - this blog is not only about music. It's about who I am. This is the metal me.
